Meet the Artist

Nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, my childhood home on Alarka was more than just a backdrop; it was a living canvas, vibrant with colors, textures, and sounds that whispered of old stories and new beginnings. Surrounded by the loving embrace of my family, I was cocooned in a world where creativity was not just encouraged but lived and breathed.

I may not have always known that art was my calling, but my heart was attuned to the rhythms of the earth and the seasonal symphonies of the mountains. The dense fogs that rolled over the peaks each morning, the sturdy pine trees standing like sentinels, and the rugged, moss-covered rocks were my first teachers, instructing me in the language of beauty and resilience.

It was here, on Alarka, that I discovered the power of my own imagination. As a child, I would craft tales and adventures from the whispers of the wind and the patterns in the stars. My hands learned to shape and mold from the earth, giving form to my daydreams with the clay and leaves at my fingertips.

Alarka Art Studio grew from these roots—deep, entwined, and nourished by the mountain land that raised me. It stands as a testament to the artistic spirit that thrives in a place of memory and magic, where every creation is a reflection of the wilderness that once cradled a young dreamer with stars in her eyes and dirt on her hands.

My Story

After years of dedicating myself to caring for others, I’m now stepping into a new chapter of my life—a journey of discovery, creation, and expression. With immense gratitude, I reflect on the teachings of Erica Helder, whose expertise in alcohol inks has been nothing short of transformative. Her guidance through her course at Ericahelderstudio.com has shaped not just my art, but my perspective on creative freedom. I have deep respect for Erica as a teacher and a mentor, and her unwavering support has been instrumental in this exciting new phase of my artistic journey.

At Alarka Art Studio in Saint Clair, Michigan, I now have the space to explore my creativity in all its forms. I’m working with resin, alcohol inks, and a variety of other mediums—letting the colors and movements guide me. My goal is to create pieces that evoke deep feelings, memories, and wonder. Each artwork is an opportunity to connect, to tell a story, and to share a piece of my soul with the world.

Alarka Art Studio is more than just a creative space—it’s a sanctuary for joy, exploration, and boundless imagination. Here, I celebrate the beauty of the unknown and embrace the endless possibilities that come with every brushstroke, every drop of ink, and every moment of creation.

I invite you to experience the wonder, emotion, and timelessness woven into every unique piece of art I create. These works reflect not only where I’ve been but also where I’m going.
